 <note>ABSTRACT&#13;
This study is entitled: “ The study on the mastering of reading skill through &#13;
literal reading comprehension to the first year students of Escola Secundaria &#13;
Geral Lere Anan Timur Lospalos in the school year 2024.”Researchers have &#13;
found that teaching reading strategy is a key element in developing students &#13;
„comprehension. However, many teachers lack of a solid foundation for &#13;
teaching these reading comprehension strategies. Therefore, teachers need to &#13;
be prepared on how to design effective comprehension strategies and how to &#13;
teach these strategies to their students. Therefore, this study aims to study &#13;
the effective reading strategies in order to improve reading skills in &#13;
languages classes. The study is an action research applied to a number 14 &#13;
students in an intermediate level integrated skill course. The main question of &#13;
study is “would reading strategies help the students‟ reading comprehension &#13;
studies?” The results of the study indicate that students had an improvement &#13;
to a great extend have been tutored about the reading strategies. Based on &#13;
the result of the test, got in table I with percentages 99,5%, and in table II &#13;
with percentages 100%, in table III with percentages 100%, in table IV with &#13;
percentages 99,1%, in table V with percentages 28,75%, in table VI with &#13;
percentages 32,75%, in table VII with percentages 12,25%.&#13;

Key Answer: The study on mastering of reading skill through literal reading &#13;
comprehension, effective teaching, and strategies.</note>
