Metodolojia peskiza: Metodu ne’ebé peskizadora uza iha peskiza ida ne’e &#13;
mak hanesan metodu Kuantitativu ho Aproximasaun Deskritivu ho teknika &#13;
ne’ebé utiliza iha peskiza hodi hetan amostra ne’e mak Systematic Ramdong &#13;
Sampling. Total populasaun hamutuk 155 ho total amostra 61. &#13;
Rezultadu Peskiza:hatudu katak Estudante sira nia koñesimentu “hatene” &#13;
kategoria diak 14(23%), nato’on 37 (61%),menus 10 (16%), koñesimentu &#13;

STUDENTS REGARDING HIV/AIDS PREVENTION GENERAL &#13;
SECONDARY SCHOOL NO. 1 OF LAUTÉM, LAUTÉM &#13;
ADMINISTRATIVE POST, LAUTÉM MUNICIPALITY, IN THE YEAR &#13;
2025 &#13;

Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus / Acquired Immunodeficiey &#13;
Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is a global pandemic that affects the entire world, &#13;
including Timor-Leste. HIV is a virus that attacks the body’s immune &#13;
system.IfHIV &#13;
is &#13;
not &#13;
treated, &#13;
it &#13;
canlead &#13;
to &#13;
AIDS &#13;
(AcquiredImmunodeficiency Syndrome). According to data from the World &#13;
Health Organization (WHO, 2023), an estimated 39.9 million people &#13;
worldwide are living with HIV infection. Of these, 38.6 million are adults &#13;
aged 15 years and older, including 20.5 million women and 18.1 million &#13;
men. In addition, 1.4 million children under the age of 15 are affected. The &#13;
number of people who died from HIV-related causes is estimated at &#13;
630,000. Based on data recorded at the Lautém Municipal Health Center, in &#13;
2024 a total of 17 people were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. In 2025, from &#13;
January to June, the number increased to 21 people, with 4 individuals &#13;
reported to have died. &#13;
Research Objective:This study aims to identify the level of knowledge &#13;
among 11th-grade students regarding the prevention of HIV/AIDS at Escola &#13;
Secundária Geral No. 1 de Lautém, Lautém Administrative Post, Lautém &#13;
Municipality, in the year 2025. &#13;
Research Methodology:The method used by the researcher in this study is &#13;
a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The technique employed &#13;
to obtain the sample is Systematic Random Sampling. The total population &#13;
consists of 560 individuals, with a sample size of 85 &#13;
Research findings: It shows that students' knowledge in the 'know' category &#13;
was good for 14 (23%), moderate for 37 (61%), and low for 10 (16%); in &#13;
the 'understand' category, good for 13 (21%), moderate for 38 (62%), and &#13;
low for 10 (17%); in the 'apply' category, good for 15 (25%), moderate for &#13;
27 (44%), and low for 19 (31%). &#13;
Conclusion: Based on the survey results, it was concluded that students' &#13;
knowledge mostly falls into the 'None' category due to lack of information &#13;
from health personnel regarding HIV/AIDS prevention. &#13;
