LEVEL OF PARENTS' KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DENGUE FOR CHILDREN
AGED 1-5 IN MEHARA HEALTH CENTER, TUTUALA ADMINISTRATIVE
POST, LAUTEM MUNICIPALITY IN 2025

Background Dengue disease is still a major problem in the international health area.
And dengue cases have increased in the last thirty-three years, each year affecting a
total of (500,000) million to kill more than twenty thousand (20.00). According to
(WHO 2022) date estimated 2.5 million or 40% of the world's population at risk
relative to dengue disease mainly live in urban areas in tropical or subtropical
countries. Currently an estimated 390 million people are infected with dengue
worldwide each year. WHO also regrets that Indonesia is the country with the highest
incidence of dengue in Southeast Asia and the highest in the world.
Based on data Mehara Health Center that the incidence of dengue disease in 2024
with a total of 143 people, but in 2025 dengue cases increased to 160 people in
Mehara Health Center. This shows that every year there is always dengue but with a
slightly different number.
Research Objective To know the level of knowledge of parents about Dengue
Prevention for children aged 1-5 in Mehara Health Center Tutuala Administrative
Post, Lautem Municipality in 2025
Research Method This research methodology uses a qualitative descriptive method
to know the description of the level of knowledge of parents about dengue for
children aged 1-5 in Mehara Health Center, Tutuala Administrative Post, Lautem
Municipality in 2025. (Nursalam, 2021).
Research Results Based on 34 respondents from this result showed that the
knowledge of parents about Dengue for children aged 1-5 in the Health Center
Mehara Administrative Post Tutuala Municipality Lautem most category low
knowledge amounted to 16 people with its percentage (47%) and its category of good
people (29%) and its category less than 8 percent of the population (24%).
Conclusion Based on the presentation of the research results according to the
respondents with the majority of knowledge.
