DESCRIPTION OF PATIENsT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LEPROSY IN BAQUI
HEALTH CENTRE, NAIMECO PANTE MAKASAR ADMINISTRATIVE POST OE
CUSSE MUNICIPALITY IN 2024.

Background: Leprosy is a chronic disease that occurs of Mycobakterium
Leprae,first attack on the skin,mouth upper respiratory infection,endocrime
reticulum system,eyes muscles bones and veins.Leprosy is a syndrome
caused by signs or symptoms caused by Mycobakterium Leprae.According to
official repots from 138 countries part of the WHO region,the prevalence of
global Leprosy in 2017 was 176 cases (0,2 cases per 10,000 peopel).The
number of new cases reported globally in 2017 was 211,973 (2,9 per new
cases).100,000 people),in 2018,213,899 new cases were reported,and in
2019,215,656 new cases.
Research objective: To know the description of knowledge of leprosy in the
health centre Baqui Naimeco sub-district Pante Makasar Administrative Post
Oecusse Municipality in 2024.
Research method: The research in descriptive qualitative method with 250
cases and uses accidental sampling method.
Research results: This research was conducted in the health centre Baqui is
knowledge about leprosy This research’s sample of 53 data is composed of
groups such as general data patients treated 23 (43%) patients underwent
incomplete treatment 17 (32%), and patients did not undergo treatment 13
(25%) and specific data better knowledge less than 14 (27%), poor
knowledge more 23 (43%) and knowledge decreased by 16 (30%).
Conclusion: 53 respondents with good knowledge 14 (27%), and less 16
(30%) and poor 23(43%). Family history of leprosy 53 in its signs such as,
white clothes, on the body and appear yellow blisters on the ends of the hand
feet and the feet that sit.
