ABSTRACT
DESCRIPTION OF FAMILY SUPPORT FOR THE RECOVERY OF
PATIENTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS IN SUCO COSTA
ADMINISTRATIVE POST PANTE-MACASSAR IN
THE MUNICIPALITY OF OE-CUSSU
IN THE YEAR 2024
Background: mental illness is a psychological syndrome or attitude that happens to
an individual or a patient who suffers from this condition, needs to have treatment
over a long period of time. According to the World Health Organization (WHO,
2022), the number of people suffering from mental illness increases every year,
almost around the world facing this disease, more or less 450 million, adults more or
less 10% of the population that faced mental illness, some ages are 25%. In
Indonesia in 2022, people who suffer from mental illness are 27.3%, which means
that one person out of every ten people within the nation suffers from mental illness.
Based on the data that the researcher researches in Suco Costa, Pante-Macassar
administrative post, in the municipality of Oe-cusse, the result of mental illness In
the year 2022-2024 is 34 people.
Objective of the research: to find out the family's support for the recovery of the
patient with mental illness.
Research methodology: the type of research uses the quantitative descriptive
method. Quantitative research method as the type of research that specifies the
systematic, more detailed plan and structure begins at the beginning of the research
design process, and can also be used as the research method that uses to clarify
the population or sample, what have. (Sugiono 2022)
Research findings: The survey findings consist of two groups namely General Data
shows that the most frequent access to information by 34 respondents was 28
Health personnel with their percentages (82%) and the lowest frequency was not
informed by 6 with their percentage (18%). And the specific data shows that out of
34 respondents, the majority of the families with 29 support with their percentage
(85%), did not support 5 with their percentage (15%).
Conclusion: based on the result of data analysis, generally the family that supports
the recovery of the patient with mental illness in Suco Costa, administrative post of
Pante-Macasar in the municipality of Oe-Cusse, in the year 2024 the respondent
who enters the support category are 29 people or (85%), and those who cannot
support are 5 people or (15%).
