<note>ABSTRACT
This thesis is entitle: “A study on comparative of the verb between English and
Waimua dialect of Bercoli village, post administrative of Venilale, municipality of
Baucau in the academic year 2023/2024”. Waimua is a language spoken people
in north east Timor.Waimoa proper is reported to be mutually intellible with
neighboring kairui and midiki. It is malayo-polynesia. However, its vocabulary is
largely Papuan, similar to that of makasae. Although generally classified as
Austronesia languages or dialects that have been largely refexified under the
influence of a language related to makasae, it is possible that waimoa, kairui, and
midiki are instead Papuan languages related to makasae which have been
influenced by Austronesian. The objective of this writing is to find out the
differences and similarities between English to waimoa dialect in bercoli village,
post administrative of Venilale, municipality Baucau. The method used in this
writing is descriptive qualitative and comparative method. The writer used
fieldsurvey approximation as the basic of data collection, to provide the data the
writer use observation and consultative method with the elicitation and note taking
techniques. The data are analyse through comparative method to compare the
verbs construction of both language. English and waimoa, the result of data
analysis is presented in the formal and informal methods. The similarities found in
using tenses in English grammar system, such all the verbs for example
