A STUDY ON MASTERING OF DEMOSTRATIVE PRONOUN TO THE EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS OF ENSINO BÁSICO CENTRAL (EBC) DE CLACUC FATUBERLIU, IN THE SCHOOL YEARS 2019/2020



ABSTRACT
Thisstudy is entitled: “A Study on Mastering of Demonstrative Pronoun to the eight grade students of Ensino Básico Central de Clacuc Fatuberliu, in the School years 2019/2020.”
This research is conducted to find out the students’ ability in learning English by using demonstrative pronoun and communicative approach as an inductor to the eight grade students of Ensino Básico Central Clacuc Fatuberliu. It is essential to learn demonstrative pronoun in order to support the mastery of English skill. The writer used qualitative and quantitative research methods to describe the results of the research and to categorize the grade of effectiveness of the students’ work of demonstrative pronoun. The population was 143 students consist of 60 males and 83 females of eight grade students Ensino Básico Central Clacuc Fatuberliu, in the School years 2019/2020. The sample of this study was 20 students, chosen from one class. There are three types of test for this study, 15 numbers of multiple choices, 10 numbers of true or false and 5 numbers of filling in the blanks. The test that was given by combination of result test indicates that 401from66, 83% of students’ correct answer,and 199 from 33, 17%students’ wrong answers, 0% of students, no answer. The total percentages were 100% from 600students. The multiple choices test result shows that 216 from 72% of students correct answer and 84 from 28% of student’s wrong answer. In true or false shows that 125 from 62, 50% students correct answers, and 75 from 37,50% of students wrong answers. Filling in the blanks result collecting indicates 59 from 59% students correct answers and 41 from 41% of student’s wrong answer. Based on the result mentioned above, the writer classified into three groups which categorized the students who got higher, average and low marks. 11 students were categorizing in high level from 19-29 with total percentage 43, 83% from the 263 students score of high mark. 8 students were categorizing in average level from range 14-18 with total percentage 21,50% from the 129 students score of average mark. 1 student were categorizing in low level from range 1-9 with total percentage 1,50% from the 9 students’ score of Low Mark. Its mean that the eight grade students of Ensino Básico Central Clacuc Fatuberliu were categorized in high mark and average mark. In addition, there was an improvement in their understanding in how to use demonstrative pronoun.
